With the help of Ben Magec we have secured funding to help with eradicating urchins which is a worldwide problem. Click the photo of Yellow Mountain to see a short slide show to see the results before and after the divers have cleared the area. For 2010 a further 3 areas close to Las Galletas have been designated as clearing zones and in which local fishing will be banned, which is great news for the divers.

 

As divers we have an invested interest to protect our seas against overfishing, rubbish pollution and simply by not disturbing the areas that we are diving in. Support PROJECT AWARE who are a non profit making organisation that support local beach cleanups, help protect marine life programmes (eg) protect the sharks, save the turtles etc.

We at Tenerife Dive want to help therefore for every PADI Course that is completed through our dive centre from now until the end of December 2010, we will donate 10 euro to PROJECT AWARE. You will receive from PADI a special certification card rather than the normal one and we will send you the PROJECT AWARE manual on a PDF file free of charge.
