February is fiesta month with the famous Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, one of the world´s most spectacular street festivals. We enjoyed a month of great diving during the day with a bit of late night salsa thrown in.

Diego diving in Tenerife

We are always delighted with the number of our customers who come back to dive with us again. We have returning friends from all over the world but as you can imagine, we are especially gratified when we see our friends from mainland Spain returning - after all, there are hundreds of Spanish dive clubs in Tenerife to choose from.

This happy customer is Diego, who was back to join us for a few days diving from the Spanish mainland.

Congratulations to Sam who completed his PADI Divemaster course.

Sam spent a couple of months with us completing his course as a Divemaster intern. For more information on our Intern programme please e-mail us.

Sam will be back in May when we are running our next Instructor Development course.

Congratulations to Ann for completing her PADI Open water diver course.

Ann did her confined water training and theory part of the course in the U.K. and came over to the warm waters of Tenerife to complete her course. For more info on our open water referral please e-mail.

Would you like to complete your Instructor Development Course in our sunny climate of Tenerife? Our next courses commences 14th May 2005.

Our Course Director, Clive Albon has completed over 200 courses both in the U.K. and in Tenerife so he knows exactly what is required to ensure success for the candidates. For more information click here

Lots of new faces: from the left - Michael, Patricia, Fiona, Jose behind the console, then Sam, Janine and Colin.

Michael completed his PADI Open water diver course. He and Patricia just got engaged - congratulations.

Fiona and Janine enjoyed a great week of diving and we enjoyed a great night out to celebrate Janine´s birthday.

Colin had a great few days diving with us.

Joining us for a few days of great diving we have father and son, Cees and Rob.

Both thought our famous feeding of the rays site was fantastic.

PADI Nitrox

Enriched air diving (NITROX) is becoming more popular with divers as they become aware of the benefits of diving with a richer mix of oxygen. Agua Tenerife Diving Centre are the only British centre in the South of the island to pump Nitrox onsite.

Three friends joined us for a week of diving and all completed their PADI deep propulsion vehicle course.

Congratulations to Ken, John and Nigel.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival 2005.

Our world famous festival lasts for one week, starting with the crowning of the gala queen, then the grand parade and finally the burial of the sardine

The theme of the carnival is changed every year. This year the theme was was ¨The Great Comedy¨ and all the fabulous parade costumes refected that in one way or another.

The revellers are a different story. Some will make an attempt to stick to the theme but most will simply dress up to have fun. From clown outfits, parodies of movie stars, cartoon characters - anything goes.

The costumes are fabulous. Great feathery creations that sperkle with sequins and diamante.

The girls and their families take months of preparation to make them and they cost thousands of euros. Local businesses and organisations will sponsor one or other of the designs.

Some of the costumes weigh up to 60 kilogrammes making them very hard to wear. It is not surprising that the girls glide by on floats which are themselves beautifully outfitted to show each costume off.

Not surprisingly, on the evening of the Crowning of the Queen the costumes are on wheels to help the girls walk.

Carnival is always a popular time to be in Tenerife and what could be better than combining a dive course with the opportunity to see one of the world´s greatest street events at first hand.

We get booked up quite quickly for the period surrounding Carnival, so if you would like to be included next year, then drop me an email now so that I can confirm your booking as soon as the Carnival dates for 2006 are announced.
