
PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Specialty Instructor (1 day).
The use of Enriched
Air for recreational diving is becoming increasingly popular. More and
more divers are recognizing the benefits which diving on enriched air
provides. In many resorts, enriched air diving is very common and several
of the major live-aboard operators now have enriched air available on
all their boats. Becoming certified as an Enriched Air Specialty Instructor
will put you at the forefront of today's trends in diving.
PADI Specialty Instructor (MSDT) (3 days).
Specialty courses are not only fun and exciting for divers to take,
they are enjoyable and easy for the Instructor to teach. Specialty Diver
courses are very popular today, especially in resort locations where
divers enjoy taking short courses while on vacation. As a Specialty
Instructor working at a
resort
your ability to teach these courses will be in great demand. If you
work at a mainland dive center and take your customers to resort locations,
Specialty courses can easy be combined with vacation travel.
The Specialty Instructor
Programme will thoroughly prepare you to conduct and market Specialty
Diver courses. You will have the opportunity to practice teaching both
in the classroom and in the open water. The Specialty Courses which
will be covered in the program are Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Underwater
Navigation, Night Diver and Search and Recovery Diver.
As an Open Water Scuba Instructor who can teach five specialties, once
you have issued 25 diver certifications at any level, you will be able
to apply for the rating of PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT). PADI
Instructors who hold the MSDT rating enjoy greater employment opportunities
in the dive industry.
DSAT Gas Blender Instructor (1 day).
This one day course will enable the Enriched Air certified diver to
safely and accurately fill tanks with enriched air.Many resorts dive
operations, live-aboard dive boats and retail facilities who have Enriched
Air fill stations, require this credential for employees who fill enriched
air tanks.
PADI IDC Staff Instructor (8 days).
IDC Staff Instructors
are qualified to assist PADI Course Directors in conducting PADI Instructor
Development Courses and other Instructor-level continuing education
courses.
During the first two days of the Course you will be familiarized with
the Instructor Development
process
and receive training in the evaluation of academic, confined water and
open water presentations. You will also be trained in how to organize
and teach the PADI Assistant Instructor Course, a course which may only
be conducted by IDC Staff Instructors and Course Directors. Your academic
knowledge and confined water skill demonstrations will be evaluated
and you will be required to give one academic and one confined water
teaching presentation.
Over the remaining
six days of the course you will participate in a complete Instructor
Development Course. Throughout the course you will perfect your evaluation
skills along side the Course Director during candidate academic, confined
water and open water presentations.
The IDC Staff Instructor course is open to Instructors who hold the
rating of PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT). Completion of this
course is one of the prerequisites for PADI members wishing to attain
the prestigious Master Instructor level.
