Red Sea Liveaboard- Grand Sea Serpent

3rd September 2008

Itinerary- Daedalus, Rocky Islands and St Johns

Price - ₤1125

The Southern Red Sea offers a vast amount of marine reserves which are only accessible from a liveaboard. Daedalus reef lies halfway to Saudi Arabia, it is as impressive as the brother islands but less dived making it a must. Out in the blue you can find Manta Rays, Reef sharks and Hammerheads. Heading further South is Rocky Island which is a kidney shaped island and has a shelf at 25 metres which is perfect for watching the sharks pass by. The shelf then plunges down to 50 metres. St Johns covers an area of 13 miles by 8 miles and has many virgin reefs, some have not even been named yet. Common sightings are Hammerheads, Threshers and even the odd Oceanic. We then head back up towards Marsa Alam finishing off on the last day with a couple of reef dives near the coast and then on for our final night in the Coral Beach Hotel.
