Daedalus Island is as impressive as the brothers but less dived as
it is further south. The dive guides are all fighting as to who is diving
which tells you how good it is. Commonly seen are hammerheads, reef
sharks, the odd turtle and many beautiful hard and soft corals.
A group photograph of our fellow divers in the dining room. This is
taken on just one of the three deck levels giving you some idea of the
scale of the Grand Sea Serpent. Other than for briefings or meal times,
you would never have known there were 24 people on board. Some would
be in the air conditioned lounge furiously downloading the latest photographs
onto laptops, while others would be sunbathing, reading or otherwise
relaxing between dives.

A very close encounter with this hammerhead certainly
woke me up on the first dive of the day.
The early morning dive is always the best for big fish, and a wake
up call with Mustapha bringing the tea to the cabin, was always a great
start to the day!
The
large but gentle giant Napoleon Wrasse as it swims along beside you
pretending to be your buddy. The divers legs and fins you can see in
the background gives you some idea of how big this beautiful fish really
is!
An awesome
sighting of a Manta Ray which was being followed by a few dolphins as
it emerges out of the deep blue. This was taken on Little Brother at
around 25 metres with the Manta passing by at about 35 metres. In a
week with so many diving highlights, this was certainly up there with
the best!
After lunch on the Tuesday and two dives done, the boat returns to
the harbour at Marsa Galib where you are transferred to the Coral Beach
Hotel by Zodiac. Dinner
is included and breakfast the following morning. Your room is reserved
for you until you are due to leave late afternoon on Wednesday. Sunbathing
and relaxing is the main activity.
